Proposal for Emerson and Friends · Prepared by Andre, Insparion

Your Spring/Summer catalog, finished on time and ready for press

Picking up a catalog partway through is a production job first and a design job second. Your direction is already set. What you need now is someone who can step into the InDesign file, keep it consistent across 60+ pages, get every product name and price right, and hand your printer files that go through without problems. That's what I've done for decades.

Why I'm a safe pair of hands for this

Decades of multipage print design

I've spent my career designing long documents: magazines, brochures and annual reports. Building spreads on a consistent grid, with consistent type, spacing and image treatment from the first page to the last, is second nature.

A master of the Adobe suite

InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator have been my daily tools for decades, and I've worked in InDesign for many years. I can open another designer's file, read their master pages, styles and swatches, and carry on in their system without breaking it.

Hundreds of jobs prepared for press

I've prepared hundreds of magazines and publications for print, across many different presses and ink combinations. Resolution, colour settings, bleeds, margins and packaging are routine checks for me, not an afterthought.

Featured project

Jacob Bros Construction: 10th-anniversary brochure

A 28-page printed brochure telling the company's story and showcasing its portfolio. Much of it works like a catalog: sections by category, and repeated project blocks of photo, title, client and description, all held to one grid. I designed it and took it through to press.

The print-ready file

This is a sheet from the final press file, with crop marks and full bleed. It's the same standard I'd deliver to your printer: correct resolution and colour settings, bleeds and safe margins checked, and fonts and links packaged.

How I'd take over your catalog

  1. Review the file first. Before adding a page, I'll go through your InDesign file: master pages, paragraph and character styles, swatches, links and the work already done. I'll continue your established direction, not reinvent it.
  2. Agree on the page plan. With your team, I'll confirm the page order, product groupings and what goes on each spread, so we're building against a clear map.
  3. Build the product spreads. I'll place your photography and product information using the existing styles, keeping typography, spacing and image treatment consistent throughout. Spreads go to you in batches for feedback, so there are no surprises at the draft deadline.
  4. Check every detail. Product names, prices, sizes and specifications are checked against your source information before each round. I treat accuracy as part of the design.
  5. Prepare for press. I'll check the files against your printer's specifications (image resolution, colour settings, bleeds and margins), then deliver the print-ready PDF, a lighter digital PDF for sharing, and packaged InDesign files with all linked assets.

Covers and spreads

A selection from the many annual reports and publications I've designed and prepared for press: multipage documents with strict grids, photography-led layouts, and financial data where every figure has to be right.

Estimate

$3,200 USD fixed fee · about 80 hours

Covers file review, completing the 60–64 page catalog in your established design, revisions through final approval, printer-spec checks, and all three deliverables: print-ready PDF, digital PDF and packaged InDesign files. A fixed fee means no surprises on your side if the hours run over.

I'll confirm the fee once I've reviewed your current files and the previous catalog.

Next step

Let's have a quick Zoom call. It's the fastest way to walk through the project, answer any questions, and see if we're a good fit to work together. I'm ready to start as soon as you are.
